We will begin with dinner on Thursday evening and end after a morning session on Saturday. The main teaching sessions will be Thursday and Friday evening and Saturday morning. If you can take off work Friday, we will have one session in the morning on leadership in the church and then do some activities together in the afternoon.
We have invited Ed Moore to be our speaker this year. He is Rob and Emilia Puie's former pastor in New York. He has been one of the pastors I have regularly sought out for counsel and care. He is going to talk to us about our union with Christ, the importance of encouragement, and will have breakout sessions on parenting and leadership.
Here is what Rob has to say about his former pastor:
“Ed Moore was our senior pastor at North Shore Baptist Church for 4 years. He is a man who puts Gods word first in his life and clearly and lovingly shared it with those around him, whether it is to disciple, teach, encourage or admonish. We grew greatly under his teaching and preaching of what it meant to be a faithful believer and church member as well as in our understanding of theology. On many occasions, we left service challenged about our walk as believers and encouraged to grow in our faith. God has given Ed great understanding and he presents God's word with depth and confidence. Lastly, I would say he enjoys the company of fellow believers, especially when rooting for the NY Mets and Georgia Bulldogs.”
We will be meeting at Crossroads this year. It is a Christian camp that will be able to house us all in one lodge. They also provide all of our meals, but we will be responsible for our own Oatmeal Creme Pies. The cost is $125 per person. Please try to make the retreat if possible.
