Sunday School

Jefferson Park offers Bible studies for all ages during our “Sunday School hour” (9:30-10:30am every Sunday morning).
Sunday School for Children and Youth
We believe that the primary responsibility for the evangelism and discipleship of children who come from Christian homes rests with their parents. Our Sunday School is not meant to replace but to supplement the work of Christian parents in the home. We carefully select mature teachers to serve in our Sunday School classes.
Classes are intentionally divided into wide age groups, often including siblings in learning groups together, as follows:
- Nursery: Excellent care for children under age 3 in our upstairs nursery suite.
- Preschool (ages 3-5): A special class for children who are just learning to read.
- Children (ages 6 to 11): An active, integrated class for younger children.
- Youth (ages 12-18): An integrated class for teenagers.
We also welcome children with special needs and will work with parents to help their children participate in our Sunday School ministry.
Sunday School for Adults
Our Adult Sunday School classes provide an opportunity for fellowship, prayer, and a lesson that teaches us how to live according to God’s Word. Please view the offered adult classes below.
- Book of Isaiah
An in-depth chapter by chapter study of the majestic Old Testament book of Isaiah, this class is in the third of five planned quarters, covering chapters 24-39. In this section, Isaiah preaches both judgment and salvation, and he highlights both in the story of King Hezekiah and the siege of Jerusalem. Each quarter is intended to stand on its own, so new members are always welcome to join us in the Training Room.
- Happy Class
Happy Class is for adults of all ages, chronologically and spiritually. We are committed to expositional teaching of Scripture in a small group setting that allows us to grow closer to one another as we grow closer to God. In the fall of 2011 we are exploring Paul's epistle to the Romans. We would be 'Happy' if you joined us!
- Micah Class
The Micah Class is a group of men who follow the Life Way Sunday School curriculum published by the Southern Baptist Convention. They begin by sharing prayer requests and thanksgiving, followed by prayer. Some of the class members boast tenures of over 40 years, some just a few classes. The current teachers, Ron Slaughter, Ron Pantuck, and Sean Agnew, rotate on a monthly basis.
- Fear of Man
When People are Big and God is Small is a book written by Ed Welch (from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) that examines the common sins of peer pressure, codependency, and the fear of man. The class will examine and work its way through the book, while contemplating, meditating and praying through the Word of God so we forfeit the idol of man and grow in love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The class meets weekly, and anyone can drop in at any time. The class will meet by the last room before the fellowship hall.
- Koinonia Class
The Koinonia Class is an inter-generational class of ladies. This class, each week, consists of scripture reading, teaching, discussion and prayer. The study theme for this quarter is Balanced Spiritual Growth, It's A Miracle, and Make Your Life Count.
