Children’s Ministry

Philosophy

Our family ministry model emphasizes coming alongside parents to be witnesses to their children with them. We pray that the children will hear the gospel, see our church living according to it, and believe. We encourage parents to consider how they can train their children to participate in the different aspects of our corporate gatherings and discipleship, while also appreciating that it can be beneficial for parents to be able to listen at times without distraction. Further, we think there is great value in other members of the church developing relationships with children and providing age-appropriate lessons for them.

Nursery

Nursery is provided for infants through age 2 during the entire Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.

  • What to Bring. Please bring a labeled diaper bag containing disposable diapers, a change of clothes, and anything else your child might need.

  • Snacks. To help prevent problems with allergies, please do not bring a snack unless you plan to feed your child outside of the nursery. We provide a snack of rice chex and water during the morning worship service.

  • Health Guidelines. We cannot admit children with potentially contagious conditions, including: fever greater than 100F within the last 24 hours, runny nose with thick mucus or persistent coughing, undiagnosed rashes, diarrhea or vomiting, impetigo, or pink eye.

  • Safety. We require each nursery worker to undergo a background check and don’t permit anyone to be alone with your child. New parents are welcome to view the nursery, but only nursery workers are permitted to remain in the nursery with the kids.

  • Nursing. A dedicated nursing room is available, including a video feed during the morning worship service.

Sunday: Bible Basics

This is a Bible study for ages 3-6 offered during the sermon. Children participating are dismissed during the offertory, and currently, we are using the Gospel Project curriculum, which teaches Bible stories in a way that points them to their need for Jesus.

Wednesday: Foundations for kids

This is our kids program offered during the Wednesday prayer service. Students are divided into 4 groups: non-readers (3-5yrs), 1st-3rd grade, 4th-6th, and 7th-10th. They are taught important foundational truths of the faith such as the Apostles Creed, 10 Commandments, and Sermon on the Mount, and they also learn the songs of the church to learn theology and grow in confidence to participate in the services.
