We praise God that the church is full, and we are in need of more space. We thank those whose contributions allowed the building’s construction in 1963 (pictured above). It continues to be a great blessing to us, and the Lord has used it for much effective ministry. As we hope to make improvements now that will help to see that ministry continue for the next 60 years, please pray for the Lord’s provision and consider supporting us financially!

Phase 1 Renovations

  • Project Goal: $975,000

  • Projected Start Date: Early 2025

  • Scope:

    • Fellowship Hall - JPBC is committed to growing together as one church, which means we are committed to worshiping as one body in one time and location.  We are blessed to have a full building most Sunday mornings, but we have started to use overflow too often to accommodate attendance. We plan to remove the classrooms in the Fellowship Hall in order to expand the large meeting area for fellowship.  This will  provide a larger worship space than the Main Hall to accommodate the growth we have been experiencing. This will also prepare us to make renovations to the Main Hall when we have the resources. We believe eating together is an important part of our fellowship and we have not been able to fit everyone for First Sunday potlucks for over a year and Members’ Meeting meals are also tight.  This space will also be used for our Wednesday night prayer service so that we can organize the chairs to allow members to hear and see each other better. We plan to create a consistent ceiling line throughout, install new lighting, flooring, and repaint.

    • Bathrooms - The bathrooms upstairs are well overdue for a remodel and do not comply with current ADA rules. The women’s room is especially small and tight regarding space.  We would like to add two ADA-compliant family bathrooms to serve families and aging members well. In the interest of improving privacy, cleanliness, and usability, we plan to renovate our existing bathrooms with new fixtures and finishes as well. Adding the ADA bathrooms also allows us to expand the Main Hall significantly without having to add additional bathrooms.

    • Nursery - Praise God for many children and the need to expand this space. We hope general updates & renovations can improve visibility, cleanliness, fun for kids, and our ability to welcome visitors well. The nursery space will be changed to better serve the workers and children.  The nursery will be expanded to include a new room with an indoor playground that parents can use during the week.

    • Main Hallway - Opposite of the nursery, the classroom and office spaces will become the new classrooms for Bible Basics, Foundations, and Childrens’ Sunday School. This will allow all the children to be on the same floor on Sunday mornings, which will help with our order and safety. The offices have already moved downstairs and our long term plan is to use the larger classrooms downstairs for adults. Members who would like to meet at the church or work remotely from the church will be able to use the downstairs rooms.

    • Playground - The playground has served as a central place for our families to gather after corporate services and during the week for fellowship. As a church that expects its members to stick around, we should seek to accommodate and promote this as much as possible. Having an area for kids to play and make friends allows parents to connect and guests to meet the families of the church. It is a place where our members should want to come with their children midweek to meet and connect as well. The playground should also be a part of our evangelism to the neighborhood as it is a place where our neighbors see our families enjoying time together. It is also where many of our members have met neighbors and engaged them with the gospel.

Phase 2 Plan

  • Details will be worked out once Phase 1 is complete, but the following architectural renderings give you some ideas about what we’re thinking
